Lazy Days - Weekends

I love the weekends. My Daddy used to tell me I was wishing my life away. I told him I was only wishing the work week away! Ha! Long time since I posted anything. CB graduated from high school. WOW! My husband, Matt said he remembered when I graduated. We can't be old enough to have a kid graduate from high school. I heard this year went by really quick - they weren't kidding! I told CB I knew it was "hoaky" but it does seem like just last August I took him to kindergarten and now here he is graduated! His birthday is coming up - he will be 18 - wants a tattoo - Matt is not too excited. We'll see what happens - when he sees how BAD it hurts. NB's birthday is Friday - he will be 14. No tattooes for him just yet. NB and Matt are going camping next weekend with their dirt bike riding friends, Jerry & Chris. I think they are going somewhere they can camp & ride. I'm not exactly sure - they sure are excited. CB and I will stay here and work and take care of the multitude of animals we have.

Our little grey striped tabby kittie - Gracie passed away May 11, 2009. CB went outside to make sure everyone was in the house safe and sound. He found Gracie laying beside the back porch. She was already gone. It was awful - I had already gone to sleep - CB came running into my room shouting something's wrong with Gracie - I went and found Matt holding her. All Matt kept saying is she's still warm. CB just cried and cried. We have no idea what happened to her. She wasn't bleeding or throwing up or anything. I don't know if she was poisoned, or fell out of our tree. I just have no idea - it was so sad! CB asked me to stay with him for a little while. He was so sad. I felt so bad because I couldn't take this hurt away. some say its "just" an animal, but in the words of my husband, "she was mine".

Ramble, ramble, ramble - I guess if I posted more than once or twice a year I wouldn't ramble so much.

The word was out - we had a vacancy. Saturday, May 16, 2009 I was in our basement and could hear a meow. Matt had told me he had been hearing it too. (I thought he was crazy) We have an enclosed front porch with a patio door and locked wrought iron gate. I leave the patio door open so our cats can get in out of the weather. It was raining and my other two girls were inside, so I thought one of our neighborhood cats had come in out of the weather. I peeked out our big picture window but didn't see anyone so I slowly opened the door between our living area and the porch (I didn't want to scare anyone) - no cat - still hear meowing. I unlock the gate and look down and see the tinest, blackest kittie I have ever seen. I put my hand out and she came right to me. Matt said, oh no - here we go. We named her LBK - Little Black Kittie - I have pictures but I am unsure how to post them. I am on CB's laptop. I will ask CB to post a picture of her.

I have been "blog stocking". Reading some amazing stories of some very AWESOME strong Christian women. I am trying to figure out how to link them on my page. If I haven't put them here (if by chance anyone besides me reads this) - if you will go to the paynes blog - thehouseofpaynes.blogspot.com you will see a link to kelly's korner - she has a list of people to pray for and a pray blog as well. You will truly find some amazing women on both jenifer's and kelly's blogs. I am much older than most of these girls and as you can tell my "babies" are not babies anymore. I do have a little in common with some - CB was born full term but with a "strider". He spent 10 days in the NICU way back in 1991. We were able to bring him home, but had to go back into the hospital to have a trach put in when he was about 8 weeks old, which he had until October 1992. I am hoping to scan some pictures of him as a baby and write his story. He has grown to a handsome, bright, gentle young man. We were then blessed with NB in 1995 - hard pregnancy but easy delivery compared to CB's. I was admitted on a Monday @ about 730 am - had NB at 1134 am and went home Tuesday around 6. I wasn't about to hang around - when they said I could take him home - I was out of there.

Anyway - have a blessed day and the rest of the week. It is raining today - very cool and beautiful. I have laundry to do, dishes, and I get to go to the grocery store. YEA!
